About us
Hotel Belgica is known for its neoclassical architecture, which was developed in the late 18th century. The hotel was originally managed by a Belgian military man, who had the courage to bring our history to life, which is how it got its name. In 1893, a significant event took place when Luis Muñoz Rivera married Amalia Marín in the Cathedral La Guadalupe and held their celebration at our hotel. Over the years, the structure underwent a transformation when the renowned architect Alfredo B. Wiechers remodeled it to be a house. Eventually, was established back into a hotel, status it retains to this day. Additionally, in 1923, Pedro Albizu Campos celebrated his wedding at this hotel.
In 1988, the hotel was acquired by a family that has devoted its best efforts to transform it into a boutique hotel, meeting the high demand of global tourists attracted to the historic architecture of the city of Ponce

Everything that Hotel Belgica offers is accurate to their listing and description (I got a king room w/ balcony and it was a wonderful spot to spend the morning watching Ponceños go about their day-to-day lives). The "bonus" was a truly warm and caring team of staff that made me feel comfortable and welcomed, from restaurant recommendations to friendly chats about travelling and language. I'd recommend staying here anytime!

The location was great for exploring the town. The hotel was nice and the beds were comfortable. The AC worked well. The staff were friendly and welcoming. They helped us carry our bags upstairs, because there is not an elevator. We parked on the street out front, in designated spots . Would stay there again.

Stayed one night in June with my husband in a balcony room. Very comfortable bed and very quiet considering we had a balcony room overlooking the street. The hotel is nicely decorated and located right off the square. Staff is friendly and helpful.
